Just for clarification, his redshirt isn't burned. You don't have to be in your first year to redshirt.

They played him in 5 games, the fifth one he did nothing but hand the ball off a few times and throw 1 or 2 passes. That is the point. They used his ability to redshirt over a few hand offs. It was a question. Not a judgement. I thought people might want to discuss this. Some of you guys make this board seem like Tide Fans.

At least the SEC Rant can be entertaining, some of you are stereotypical Bammers, I swear

It's just not much to go on at this point. Did Lia want to be redshirted? After Tua went down he was second in command and at that point was a twisted ankle from starting.

Mac got redshirted but he was at least third in the pecking order behind Tua and Jalen. It still doesn't mean he will be here or any other college for a 5th year. Redshirting is not near the pressing issue these days now that the transfer portal has put simply leaving your school in the passing lane.

Again, you’re speaking emotionally. I’m talking logic here. He still has the ability to redshirt.

Now I’m going to give you the answer you don’t want to hear. Taulia will never be a starting QB at Alabama and the fact that he played in five meaningless games means he can make use of that redshirt when he transfers out.

You really think it wasn’t endlessly discussed when it happened?

Really?

Absent new information, nothing is different from November. The staff decided to play him, some fans think it was stupid, some think it was a reasonable action.

Most don’t give a flying frick one way or another because 2019 is over and it won’t be a POTENTIAL issue until the end of the 2022 season.

The problem wasn’t playing him in his fifth game. The idiotic thing was playing him against Mississippi State, which was his fourth game. He came in against State with less than two minutes to go when Alabama could just fall on the ball and go home. The rent a win was the next week, and it made sense to give him experience then. But if you hold him out of the State game this isn’t a topic
