The Fear on this Board is unreal. Kirby has made one major mistake in 4 years in Athens - letting Fields go. Everything else is basically collateral damage from that. Homeboy is 44 and will be around longer at UGA than any other SEC East coach. By far. Call me in 2050 when Kirby finally removes his foot from Florida's arse.

That mistake could cost UGA a championship for years to come.

Also, realize that Kirby has developed a reputation as abad coach. The players obviously don't like playing for him.

All that said- I think UGA will still win the East next year and be in contention for the CFP. If they are able to get a more mobile QB that will help with a young/inexperience Oline.

Lets look at their current roster:

They are set in the backfield and their defense will carry them. As a matter of fact, I like their chances of running the table more, if, that's a big if, they can get a mobile QB at QB. Fromm was a leader but he was just too immobile and returning to UGA with a less experience line would not have helped the team. A mobile QB will help extend plays and open up the running game. see LSU.

Their Oline will be fine

They have the WRs to help out

They have the backfield and another 5* TE

Kirby has to drop his ego and pull everything together. Right now, his coaching style and game day strategy is NOT working. He's been exposed. Otherwise, he will find himself back as a bonafide Coordinator in 2-3 years either in the College or Pro.
