His single season with the Jets was bad, but he won the division once, made the playoffs 2 of his 3 seasons, and never had a losing season in New England. He won as many games in his only 3 seasons as Parcell won in his last three. That's far from being a big bust.
The biggest problem he had while he was there was that Drew Bledsole was on the down side of his career and some dude named Brady was stuck handing the ball off to people for Lloyd Carr.

The perception of his tenure in New England is so far off compared to the actually results.
Talk to people in Boston and they would swear he went 0-16 every year and was a Yankees fan.
