I've been a state fan for a very long time. When I was in school, the students were actually throwing their cowbells at the team from the stands. I'm serious. So, I've seen the worst. We are only as good as the school will support. The support has never been good enough to win year in year out with consistency. Small school in a small state? The only school with a smaller student body is Vandy. Medium income per household....Ms. dead last. So, lots of things that can effect overall programs. The future of state football is perhaps better than the history, but not by much.

Take away the Jackson Medical School and we surpass them in Student body.

Which is all that matters. Starkville Student Body vs Oxford Student Body.

And yes I am very afraid of the future support of Football. It could look exactly like MBB where even when we're good, fans will make excuses not to come. And we're one more Moorhead season away from that
