You're locked into QB stats, and that's nice and all. Bo Nix is the 6th best QB in the SEC, based on stats.

Stingley is on the SEC second team as a CB and is certainly the best freshman CB in the conference. Bo Nix didn't make either 1st or second team SEC.

That's the argument.

Edit: And as I said before, I and others think Owen Pappoe had a better freshman campaign than Nix did for Auburn.

Point exactly. Well said. Stingley is by far the best freshman this year hands down.

Maybe because the conference didn't have many good CBs and plenty of QBs. Nix set enough records at Auburn to earn it. Plus he done it against a harder schedule. He only threw 1 pick the 2nd half of the season and none at home all year.

Here's what got him the award besides going 9-3 against Auburn's schedule.

Nix, who finished the year with 165 consecutive pass attempts without an interception and who did not throw a pick at home this season, set program freshman records for yards, completions and passing touchdowns.
