There is nothing heroic about merely serving in the military. That is a recent affectation rooted in lower standards and Baby Boomer guilt.


Tell me what was heroic about being drafted to serve in Vietnam. You're the one who set the benchmark for "heroism" as being enlisted/drafted during Vietnam vs. taking a commission through ROTC.

You're muddling the point, again.

Taking the ROTC route in 1969 was the most cowardly option compared to enlisting or being drafted.
