It depends. What was going on when you graduated high school? Was there a draft going on? (No.)

Rick Perry faced being drafted or going to College Station.

By the way, how heroic do you consider your service? Do you have a Bronze or Silver Star? A Purple Heart?

You equated Bill Clinton, who went to Moscow to protest the Vietnam War, to Perry, who served in the Air Force for 8 years.

Based upon case studies we had at Leavenworth, the post-Vietnam era was a dangerous time to be an officer.

Rick Perry wasn't going to be drafted with draft number of 275. He was stationed in the UK, West Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain
