So what you're saying is that, since I didn't enlist directly out of high school and instead commissioned after 4 years, that my service cannot be considered "heroic".

Clearly you are the expert on this having served for nearly 20 years including 4 deployments...oh wait, that's me.

It depends. What was going on when you graduated high school? Was there a draft going on? (No.)

Rick Perry faced being drafted or going to College Station.

By the way, how heroic do you consider your service? Do you have a Bronze or Silver Star? A Purple Heart?
