I think the Bo Pelini / LSU marriage is great. Bo runs (or did run - hope he still does) a 4-3 two gap system. Adjusting from the current LSU system to the new system will take some time. Much like Alabama, the players (Mike above all others) have to think and adjust constantly.

Set the defense, the O shifts the look then puts someone in motion. While the D is making multiple adjustments the O snaps the ball and not everyone is set to run the new call. Or some of the DL run one call while the LB's run a different call. Sound familiar to what we saw from our defense this past year?

Pelini also likes to run a single high safety to get one additional safety closer to the LoS for run support. Waddle on an RPO play side slant and Smitty on a backside SLUGO after a shift will eat the Pelini system up.

It will take the LSU DL long enough to get the system down that it may cost them a couple of games on the front half of the schedule. The way that Sark uses shifts and motions will give the LSU DB's/LB's hell adjusting on the fly.

LSU has 7 guys on the 2020 projected depth chart that are 4-3 two gap DT's and not a single 4-3 DE body type. DE's have to be more sleek pass rushers and edge setters. 250-260 lbs range rather than the 7 300 lbs guys they have.

My problem is more about the Bo and Coach O dynamic. Pelini won’t be very good at taking orders from O. It reminds me of that offensive coordinator they hired a few years back. Can’t think of his name
