How do you see the game plans for Ala and LSU unfolding?

I'll be honest and say upfront LSU and Joe Burrow will definitely want to maintain long drives, wear down Bama's defense while running clock in order to keep the ball out of the hands of a very lethal Tua and Alabama. Joe Burrow is a very patient QB and he'll take what Bama's defense gives him. LSU's offense will also play fast at times, looking for breakdowns in Bama's coverage to score quick TD's, but will also run the ball at every opportunity, the more LSU owns the clock, the less opportunities Tua has to score.

Alabama will continue to throw their quick slants and short passes to see if they can break them for TD's and will take some deep shots, but Bama also wants to run some clock, wear out LSU's defense and keep the ball out of Joe Burrow's lethal hands. It will be interesting to see if the scores remain close, how much each team continues going for the quick score or has the ability to slow it down while maintaining long drives to rest their defense.

Both of these lethal offenses will score multiple TD's, it will be the game management of each coach and turnovers that will decide this game. Score too fast too often, and Ala or LSU's defense may be too gassed to hold up in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Take too long to score TD's or don't take advantage of every scoring opportunity and the game could get out of reach. If either Ala or LSU gets up 14 in the 3rd quarter, it will be critical that they can run the clock, maintain drives and wear down the defense. With both offenses so dynamic, management of the game and turnovers will be the key to victory. Looking forward to a very entertaining game.

I think the ball will be snapped to the QB several times. I can safely say it will be the most commonly used method to move the ball.

I won't be surprised to see a low scoring, defensive game. Both offenses are capable of putting up a lot of points but I wouldn't be surprised to see both defenses play their best games of the year.

I see Bama winning this by 10. Sorry LSU, the speed at WR and accuracy of Tua are hard to beat. If Tua is out, flip the score.

Alabama exposing LSU and getting to Burrow... LSU unable to run the ball... Alabama throwing slant TD after slant TD after slant TD..., DBU(lol) unable to do a dang thing about it....

Bama a lot... LSU... very very little.

I honestly think it’s gonna be a boat race... and this place will be incredible.

Alabama has tried to run the ball in every game against inferior opponents and has yet to establish a run game. If we can run the ball this game will be over quickly.

Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if bama wins by 10. As a LSU fan, if LSU wins it will be with a great play with under 5 to go

I think if Alabama can limit 22’s gashing runs, they should be ok. Typically after LSU has a nice pass play, Edwards-Helaire follows with a gashing run. If he can rip of 5-7 yards per carry then it’ll be a tough game for the Alabama defense.

I think stopping him is the most important aspect. He’s very hard to tackle

In the passing game, what Alabama and LSU both do best is very much the same. Both defenses play against that strength often in practice. If you cut off the RPO/slant game you open yourself up to the sluggo.

When the sloggo comes into play there are 3 issues to deal with. (1) O-line pass pro - can your team keep the other team off of the QB long enough to make the throw? (2) can CB/Nickle reroute quickly enough and have the speed to catch up to the WR and create a tight throwing window? (3) Can your team run well enough to keep the safeties from being able to hold over-the-top coverage when a sluggo pops?

Tua and Joe both have the ability to hit small windows which will be required. How does that hold up if DL/blitz pressure gets in their faces?

I think it will be a fun and exhausting game to watch. I just hope both teams come away from the game without injuries that would impact the rest of the season.

How Brady has a lot of Sean Payton in him. Sean looks for a weakness and goes at it, over and over and over again. Look for LSU to go after Bamas middle with Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. I expect both to lineup in the slot. I suspect you’ll see them go after Surtain too. He’s struggled with PI’s and quicker receivers.

If I were Bama I’d go after Kary Vincent and do everything I could to match him up with Jeudy or Waddle in the slot.

I’m concerned about the middle of our defense and LSU being able to run and sustain long drives. If I were then, I’d play more conservative that what I understand they’ve done this year, in part to keep our receivers off the field but also because I think it can be successful for them. More so this year that in years past.

This was noted in a thread earlier, but I think this year’s Alabama team would have more problems with a smash mouth, old school LSU team than our defenses from years past did. Not saying we won’t have problems with the current version.

I'm not going to sit here and get into a pissing match with LSU fans about who has a better QB, RB, WR's, Secondary, etc. The fact of the matter is these areas are all close enough that we're all going to say that the team we pull for is better in those areas.

Having said that, Bama will win this game the same reason they always do, Our offensive line has an advantage on your defensive line, and our defensive line has an advantage on your offensive line. Somehow over the last few weeks you guys have convinced yourself that bama "doesn't have the dudes" up front that Auburn has and that it won't be a difficult task to block them.

Raekwon Davis is 6'7" 310 first round pick and has given LSU fits his whole career. Jennings and Lewis are the best pair of edge rushers that LSU will see this season and it isn't particularly close. You won't be able to block those guys one-on-one. Extra guys in protection = fewer guys running routes = more defenders in coverage. Outside of the center there just isn't a really good offensive lineman wearing white on saturday. We make this game a lot more complicated than it is some times. Football is throwing, catching, blocking, and tackling. I think our dudes can block your dudes and your dudes can't block our dudes.

I believe the team who tackles best, wins.

I hinestly Don’t see either team sacrificing being effective on offense to control the clock.

LSU has been more balanced lately but teams have been doing more to take away deep shots so the deeper safeties dictate more run plays and short passes.

If either team gives a favorable look for a deep shot I think Either will take them as often as they see them.
