I remember when I was a kid back in the 80s all the games were pretty much around 1:00 PM. Didn’t seem to be a big deal back then. Do I prefer it? No. Is it a life altering event? No.

Went this past Saturday. Me and 3 kids under the age of 10. Tailgated for a few hours, did the Dawg Walk, got into the stadium 30 minutes before kickoff, and stayed into the 4th quarter. My observations:

It was hot.

There are issues with our metal detector process. My opinion it has more to do with geography than management. They just need to add a bunch of detectors and lines at the north and south ends of the stadiums where it is open like at Bryant Denney to avoid bottlenecking it. That might disrupt some of the Junction tailgaters, but you can’t have everything just the way you want it.

Concessions had long lines. They let you bring in a water bottle and had filling stations set up so it wasn’t a big deal to me but I get the aggravation.

I’ll be there this Saturday and next Saturday too.
