I don't want to start another thread so I'm hoping you can add some of this relevant info to your OP.
It's a quote from Tiger Rag prior to the game (article is dated September 5 and quote makes it clear the game hasn't been played yet):

Here is what Coach O said today:
By the way, I think the important part is that he's not really making a big deal out of the A/C issue. The media and others made a big deal out of it.
Sounds to me like:
1) Coach O found out the A/C was subpar
2) Coach O planned for it and dealt with it
3) Coach O isn't blaming the lack of A/C.
4) The media and message boards took the story and ran with it
5) Texas is calling Coach O and the folks at La Tech (assuming we ever hear their side) liars

quote:
Orgeron said the Tigers have taken precautions and even asked for advice in preparation of the heat.
“We prepared. We have air conditioning that will be in the locker room before the game. We’ve heard the locker room doesn’t have much ventilation. We got the cool zones on the sideline. I did talk to Louisiana Tech, and they felt that the sun was not on their sideline at 7:00.”

quote:
"First of all, I called Louisiana Tech, and they told us about it," Orgeron said Monday. "So we did some things in the dressing room that were better. It wasn't great, but it was better. At least we had air in there. They didn't have air. We had some blowers in there. I don't think that caused as much as going out there and having to play 93 plays on defense. I think that had a lot to do with it."

If true, then why bring it up to begin with?
He could have stopped with, "We prepared for it." He's the one who brought the whole "here's the locker room thing", then tried to pass it off.

I believe it. Very few remember how Texas screwed LSU in the Cotton bowl 50 odd years ago.
The year was 1969...
They got their asses handed to them previously by LSU in the Cotton bowl, that was then controlled by the Southwestern Conference. They begged Notre Dame to go against their "no bowl" stance and play Texas. LSU was 9-1 with the one loss to an Archie Manning-led Ole Miss. By the time the negotiations with Notre Dame were done, which LSU knew nothing about and was fully expecting a chance to knock off NC texas, the Sugar and Orange bowl were already filled. Later, LSU received a bid to the Liberty bowl that they rightfully declined.
Instead, Coach Mac made a trophy to remember the incident and gave one to each of his coaches.
