Wish more people were social workers. They are some of the most over worked and underpaid people in the economy. Known lots of them in my life and even dated a few and most people would not last a week without putting a gun to their head if they had this job. Yeah, I was accepted into both UT and A&M. Not really a big accomplishment. Decided to stay home to save money and glad I did. Left college with a lot less debt which I quickly paid off and the satisfying feeling of graduating from a school I learned to love long before I attended class. Zero regrets.

Are you really too stupid to understand that College Station’s reason for existence is the university? Austin could lose UT and no one in that town would give a frick.
Comparing a major city like Austin and a college town like College Station is an extremely dumb thing to do.
Sorry you’ll never know what it’s like to live in a real college town and experience a real college atmosphere.
I guess you actually preferred to leave class and see homeless transvestites with heroin needles hanging off them.

to be fair, UT does rank quite a bit higher in the engineering fields. they rank higher than MIT in civil...…
while our goal is to get our kids to College Station, UT is right at Ivy League level now.

As far as bashing Austin, the place is cool and put your politics to the side......most normal people do under typical circumstances.
