LSU fans, how did he play?
Haven’t been able to watch your game and he is a guy I’ve wanted to keep an eye on.

Meet the hype?

Eek just realized y’all played Georgia southern.
Doubt they threw the ball much.

Beat us and only threw it like 4 times. Guess I’ll find out next week

His ability as a punt return specialist alone were enough to meet the hype.

He is legit and IMO, is the first player in a long time that could have gone to the NFL right out of high school. Probably not a starter, but would without a doubt make a roster.

I don’t think they completed a pass on him.

He did have two stellar punt returns which was nice.

Derek held his own @ cornerback but considering Georgia Southern was way more run oriented than passing wasn’t much of a test against his defensive skills...he did very well on his punt returning though...Texas will be a bigger test...

He's going to be special. The hype is warranted.

Had 52 punt return yards in his first game. He almost took the first one to the house.

LSU as a team had 99 last year. So we are on track for a major improvement.

GSU did not throw his way on defense.

Elite talent in every phase of his game. Almost took his first punt of his college career back for a TD. If teams do punt to him this year, I feel he will take at least one or two to the house. He's that good.

UT will be the test as to how ready he is for “prime time”...Ehlinger & their stud receivers are surely going to test him many times since they only have one scholarship RB and a converted QB to RB available to take carries & run besides Ehlinger.

I look for UT to throw the ball 75%+ of all their snaps/offensive plays...

It Ought to be one hell of a show - I hope Stingly can get’er done!

Even though it was very limited, based on the two punt returns he had, I can tell he is going to be an electric punt returner. He has great vision and flies.

Georgia Southern almost never passes, but the dude is built like a rock and can seriously move. When the ball starts flying in the air more, I think he's going to meet the hype and then some.

He’s going to be good. Can’t understand why Alabama and Georgia never offered him.
