I get the short term picture. This could still be a "successful" season with 9 wins.

I am trying to recognize the long term disadvantages associated with this loss.

- No positive airtime during "College Football Live" or other ESPN shows. This impacts fans expectations and overall perspective across other fan bases and recruits
- The narrative of us being good and beating teams like South Carolina during week three can be shifted as two average/bad teams playing each other
- Recruiting impact to get the Doyle's and Mannings back in the fold against other bigger programs as we show no real progress. In the end we can get to November without beating a team with a winning record, again.

There’s no long term negative implications for a single early season loss. If the Wyoming loss turns into a 6-7 loss season, then there will be negative consequences.

Jalen Logan-Redding is committing today, it’s expected to be Mizzou.

He’d done this every year.
And we’re still mildly surprised.

He’ll kill home attendance. Hell, we may even lose to WVU next week and still make 6 wins.

But it will hurt recruiting and all the momentum he’s built to this point. Which he’s really, really good at.
