This is what Odom was building towards from 2016-2018.

- There was a national narrative that had us as the second best team in the east, ready to compete with UGA after an 8-0 start.
- We had all eyes on us with Kelly choosing the Mizzou Tigers over an Auburn team who would be in the opening weekend spotlight.
- The national media following our team closely to see if we really were ready to compete so they can follow this years Kentucky stroryline from the beginning.

Its all gone. We had momentum that could help with recruiting and overall fan enthusiasm that came to a halt. With a December signing day at play, this loss does nothing but hurts the narrative of a coach installing a process and culture of winning and working towards competing for championships as our coach states when he is in front of a microphone.

If you are a 4 star recruit, why come here? You don't play in any marquee out of conference games for national exposure and you have a coach who has a record of 2-17 against winning FBS programs.

Sure you can. Lots of teams blow games that they shouldn’t early in the season. A few years ago Virginia Tech lost to an FCS team and played in a New Years bowl game.

Mike Leach has a couple losses to FCS teams, and still got to 9 wins.

There’s tons of other examples

The season isn’t completely ruined...yet.

What the loss does is put a monumental hill in front of them that must be climbed that wasn’t there before. Now they need to win the next 6-7 games without dropping any to prove they are a good team because the narrative is completely different.

If they go on to win 9 games, it will be a good season, but leave questions about the long term future with a coach that can not prepare his football team.

If they win 10, which is now very doubtful, then the Wyoming games becomes a fluke first game frickup.

They just have to win and correct the mistakes and play sound football.

I don’t know if any of that happens, and I’m not confident it will or predicting that it does. Just say that’s where we are now

He let a DC that is absolute dog shite as a position coach, remove a LB from the front 7 in the top LOS league in the country. MU was one of the best run defenses in the country last year and they just allowed 300 yds on the ground to a fricking group of 5 school.

This 4-2-5 shite was terrible 3 years ago and he let his DC tube the team yet again. Yes, this defense works when it is coached well. Walters isnt that guy and now BO is going to have to step in and fix it after wasting an entire year.

frick that. His belief in Walters is completely unfounded and will be his down fall.
