The driver that beat Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl in his second year and has beaten all east opponents by a double digit margin for 2 straight years is still pretty fricking good.

Just because Smart is a better recruiter than he is a coach doesn’t mean he is a shitty coach, just that he is a really, really good recruiter

I'm not saying Kirby isn't a good coach. I'm just saying that recruiting classes don't necessarily equate to absolute wins on the field.

Also, freaking Lyle Jones nearly, and should have, beat Mayfield. He also had high recruiting classes. He just choked when the opportunity to win presented itself.

All I'm saying is Kirby needs to show it when it matters; on the field. When he does that I'll concede that UGA made the right hire to win national titles.

Otherwise, he's just Richt with a better roster and worse opponents in the east.

Here we go again. This is beyond laughable.

BTW the SECE had 3 teams that finished in the top 12 last year.Thats more than '02,'03,'05 and '11...all years when CMR won the SECE.

No, but the top teams in college football remain the top teams because they consistently own the jimmies and joes battle of the equation. Talent isn’t everything but it’s proven to be most of it.

In 2015. When Baker was in his first year at OU.

He is 24-5 in his past 2 years with an SEC title, a playoff win, and a double digit average margin of victory over division opponents. I know Tennessee hasn’t had a model of success to compare to in about 20 years but I think you can go ahead and concede that Kirby was a great hire.

Georgia has a great team and has a very good coach, by far the best team in the East and perhaps the 2nd best team in the SEC and one could argue the best SEC team.

Kirby has turned the program in a positive direction and judging a program solely on winning a national title is tunnel vision.

Is Georgia beatable, yes and if they were in the SEC West then they would have a struggle going undefeated but so would any team in the country including Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and all the other good teams.

Right now the bar is set by Alabama and Clemson has closed the gap but Georgia is gaining ground and may very soon be among the leaders.
