Realistically, how big is the gap in the East?

How far ahead is Georgia? If Florida is the next best thing, then how many eyes will be on Florida on Saturday? Georgia seriously needs to figure out how to beat Bama or things will get ugly for Smart, because Florida will eventually catch up.

UGA beat UF 36 - 17 last time, that would be 19 points. So the gap is about 19 points.

Not that big. UGA will have at least 1 loss to an east opponent this year and of course a loss to Bama.

It's GA, then a couple of others, followed by a couple of others, and then two from the same state.

Florida isn’t the next best thing though

The gap is probably 10-14 pts

Georgia has signed more 5 stars than the rest of the east combined in the last few years

It's a pretty wide gap

I believe UGA has won 13 consecutive games against East opponents by an average of four possessions. They’ve also ran laps around the rest of the division in recruiting. The gap is realistically quite large at the moment.

SC is the real threat to UGA, not UF. Hell, Mizzou may be more of a threat this year than UF. They probably will be.

We do love all the attention UF is getting though, lulz

Georgia is not “that” far ahead. Why do people honestly think UGA is “that” far ahead?

lulz .... it’s getting surreal around here.

UGA is recruiting well and they had a couple of good seasons while the East was waaaaaay down. They’re not cake walking to anything.

So large that Florida may not even show up. How many times has the better team on paper won the game?

I bet the line will be 14-17 points in Georgia’s favor. They might as well consider it a home coming game. No way they lose.

Still way behind LSU if they were in the West.

UT can be good in yr. 3 under Pruitt. UF lands a good mobile qb, they can beat UGA. South Carolina? Who knows. Same with UK. Vandy is Vandy.

Georgia is still the top team in the East but Florida is well on its way. So is Tennessee and Missouri. Georgia is not above Georgia-ing against the other three and most any team in the West.

But the gap between these four teams vs Vandy, South Carolina and Kentucky is fairly wide.

If Georgia was in the west it would be very interesting these past years.

Georgia is still Georgia. There are 4 teams with a legit shot at winning the East

Georgia has signed 15 five-stars between 2017 and 2019 (-1 for Justin Fields).
Florida has signed 0 five-stars during that same period.
How far ahead is Georgia? Far.

Starting when? So far, the 2020 classes are simply replicating the pattern we've seen for the last three years. Florida is not currently catching up to Georgia.
