New rumor swirling is Bama is indeed after a transfer QB and it’s Tyler Van Dyke. Hurricane fans are all talking about it. Apparently he was interested in transferring to ND with Rees but now he’s looking at Bama. That’s the connection.

This would align with what Finebaum and McElroy said plus that random BOL poster.

TVD is a solid player and if he makes us better then I’m all for it but if it’s true I’m really just disappointed in what this means for Milroe and Simpson. Both very talented players. How are they not ready?

Try not shooting the messenger this time. I’m just relaying what’s being said.

I know y'all remember what I said about Tyler Van Dyke and his NFL potential. But, if this rumor is true that would be INTERESTING and funny.

He may transfer, BUT doesn't fit in the direction Bama is headed this season. Definitely not a mobile quarterback running a 5.0 forty.

If we are going to run a throwback offense TVD would fit in. Plus, he's got an NFL arm and he can get the ball to our receivers.

For what it's worth a Miami fan said on Twitter that the staff is trying to convince TVD to stay.

Time will tell.

We got a commitment from Garner Minshew when we were in the center of the Tua/Jalen competition. Adding a QB doesn’t inherently mean what we have is terrible

If we're going to puff our chest out and pull the old I told you so card how about admitting the rest of what you said. You know the part where Bryce has a noodle arm, should stay in school another year, and isn't as good as Van Dyke.

If you're going to try to claim some retroactive W you gotta hold that L as well.

I’ve heard all this yesterday and today I just don’t know how hard this is being pushed.

Bill O’Brien, if they aren’t ready.

There’s an 18 page thread on CanesInsight about it. They don’t know anything either but they are worked up

I don't know why. He was an average recruit that has been a below average player in 3 years at Miami.

Van Dyke, not interested. The only qb in the portal that would have raised my eyebrow was Hartman.

TVD became below average once Lashlee left. That's the truth. So, you're wrong. Coaching is IMPORTANT. Even with all of our talent without good coaching we aren't winning championships.

Some Miami YouTube guy talking about the rumor of TVD to Bama. Comments section is the best part.

The only way this makes sense is if the loser of the QB battle transfers out before the fall and coach wants an experienced backup just in case

Not gonna argue with you pal because everyone on this board knows how that would go. You'd stubbornly continue to drop your hilariously bad opinions as fact while simultaneously insulting my intelligence and/or football knowledge until you finally get frustrated enough to resort to personal insults by calling me a sheep or some other nonsense. Not interested.

We are suddenly paper thin at DB. We need to peruse the Portal for some talent.

Or worst case scenario, both the Bama QBs aren't living up to Saban's standard and he knows he needs a QB or its going to be a long season.

Maybe Paul was right on his take the Bama QBs are doing awful in the spring.

Best thing I’ve heard in 2 years is that this team is back to no nonsense.

I think our staff was too soft the past 2 years
