He’s not going to fall because of this. Everyone already knew he wasn’t actually 6’0 as listed on the roster and he’d inflate his weight at the combine. This isn’t a shock to any team that was interested in him

I think most thought he was over 5’11” though. He’s barely 5’10”. He’s over an inch shorter than I am. You can’t say that about very many guys in the NFL. I still think he’s going to be great but I’m afraid our number one overall drought will continue.

Again teams knew he is about Murray’s height. Teams that thought he could be their franchise QB because all his other skills are unlikely to all of a sudden say no to that because he’s literally an inch shorter then thought. I guess it’s possible he drops a few spots but I don’t think it’ll be because of his measurements coming out. If he drops it’ll be because teams were already worried about it beforehand

100%
I personally thought he was around 5’11.5”. In just saying we now know what the scouts already new and I no longer believe he’ll go number 1 overall. Before this I thought he was 85% sure to be the number 1 QB taken and 100% sure he’d be one of the top 2 QBs taken. Now he may be the first QB he may be the 4th QB. I don’t agree with it but NFL coaches love prototypical size.

It also doesn’t help that Russ and Kyler both just had the worst years of their careers and that’s who he’s being compared to. A lot of folks are even saying Russ was just a product of the system since Geno had such a good year as his replacement.

Weird that the first Spring practice is taking place the Monday after Spring Break ends (3/20). Historically Saban liked to have one practice before everyone scattered for Spring Break

I agree, anyone who has seen him in person knows he wasn't 6'. I took my brother in law to a game last year and he wanted to see them walk off of the buses. So I took him over and Brice walked right in front of me like less than two feet away. I am 6'3" 225 and he looked like he could've been my child. My brother in law who is a Florida fan was surprised as well.

SIAP or already discussed: The over labeling of Height is dumbfounding to me. Why do the schools do this (knowing that they will get measured at the combine)? Do they think it is a mental advantage against opponents?

I'm pretty surprised that Bryce is the same height as Murray.

It’s to keep the pundits from discrediting the player as an nfl prospect. If Kiper and McShay are writing you off before you’re even eligible for the draft it hurts draft stock. Should it? No. You also have to swim with the rest of college football. A guy like Bryce is always assumed to me shorter than his listed height. If he was listed at 5’10” they would assume he’s 5’8”.

You're probably right. It might not be so bad if the 330 was prior to his senior year of high school, though. Proctor is a massive human being, I've seen his height listed variously as 6'5 1/2" to 6'8".

Eli Holstein, QB – 222 to 237 (+15)
A little early to hit that Freshman 15.

Tony Mitchell, DB – 180 to 205 (+25)
This one is intriguing after some programs questioned his work ethic and said he was out of shape.

Holstein is a big dude. His dad and brother are very big men. His brother is bigger than him and I believe that his dad played for LSU. As for Tony Mitchell, I believe that it was pretty much known that he would end up at safety in college. Hopefully he gets in better shape for the season. He looked like he had enjoyed his recruiting process if you know what I mean.

I think the questions were mainly about him getting too big to play DB. He looked like a LB in photos from the playoffs last year.
