This is nostalgia at its finest. It's sitting on a rocking chair, reminiscing about the good ole days.
The old system sucked. The new one isn't perfect, either.
I think you'll see Bowls relegated NIT status, sooner rather than later. I also think that we'll go to an 8 team playoff, and do away with conference title games.
While different, its certainly better than having biased pollsters determine who wins a friggin championship. My lord, that was a silly time.

If you are logical and can remove yourself from CFB fandom; allowing sports writers to crown a champion was the most bullshite move in sports

They already have. No one cares about the bowl games anymore if they're not among the final four teams. It's stupid to even have bowl games anymore. If we're going to keep or expand the current system, there needs to be serious consideration of eliminating the bowl system entirely, leaving only the most prestigious behind (i.e. Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, etc.) to host the playoffs.
