A member of Alabama’s tight end group has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Junior Kedrick James (2016) went into the transfer portal Friday, according to a source.

Kedrick is one of the freakiest guys on the team as far as physical prowess goes," tight end Miller Forristall said last year. "I mean, he’s huge and he can run and he can jump, and I’ve seen him throw a ball like 65 yards standing still. He is athletically tremendously talented, and he’s got huge potential.

James entering the portal is noteworthy not just because of his potential but also because the tight end group was already a concern for Alabama after losing its top two tight ends from last season, Irv Smith and Hale Hentges.

Depth was already enough of a concern that the team moved linebacker Cameron Latu to tight end during the spring.

Odd timing. Kid had an enormous spring game. Expected to play a yuge role.

You hate to see this kind of stuff so close to the start of the season. He looks athletic here:

Wish him the best

It's much better than hoping an accused sexual assauler of a minor makes it back on the team

Got his feelings hurt or the Latu kid is a horse. Or Pruitt (LOL) is feeding him and they are covering the deal with the portal. He is an enormous talent and will play where ever he goes.

I see you are getting out in front of this...

quote:

Also in 2018, the NCAA added a rule requiring head coaches to be accountable for the improper actions of their assistants.

NCAA Bylaw 11.1.1, “Head Coach Responsibility,” imposes a presumption of head coach accountability for impermissible acts committed by assistant coaches and administrators within their program.

If the NCAA is looking for an opportunity to showcase its new powers, it appears some of the schools frequently named in the FBI investigations of college basketball are most vulnerable.

It is already known the NCAA is investigating Kansas and LSU. Football and basketball are involved at both schools. LSU has received more of the headlines.

Wiretaps of Will Wade talking about ‘strong’ offers to prospective players may be all the evidence the NCAA needs to punish Wade and the school. More recently, it has been alleged an LSU booster used misappropriated funds from a foundation to pay the father of a former LSU player.

That player, Vadal Alexander played for the Bengal Tigers from 2012-2015. It has been reported the NCAA has an ongoing investigation into the LSU football and basketball programs.

If the NCAA heeds those coach calls for action, the results may be first seen in Baton Rouge.

How soon might the NCAA act? New announcements of allegations are expected before the end of July.

I remember when back up right ends used to transfer Saban was dirtbag for processing them. I like this narrative much better. Bama is in trouble guys.

I know you play a (terrible) character here which is odd enough in its own right, but I have no doubt the seeds of optimism are firmly planted and the roots of “this is the year” are beginning to take hold in your cranial cavity. It will only make November that much more enjoyable for us all

Back to the point, Saturday Blitz posted a great read about the situation here
quote:

Alabama football, you’re used to losing players to the transfer portal. However, it is usually because good players can’t see the field due to talent above them. It is very rare for projected starters to transfer in the summer for the Tide. That was makes Kedrick James entering the transfer portal so big.

quote:

The bad news for Alabama is that they have now lost three of their top tight ends from last season. They already lost Irv Smith Jr. and Hale Hentges, and James makes it three. Also, James had the potential to be one of Saban’s best tight ends since he took over at Alabama.

quote:

If they fail to live up to expectations, Alabama football fans will miss a player in Kedrick James

For a guy who doesn't even know who Jaylen Waddle is, you obviously spend a ton of time with the "wannabe" research on Alabama football. You're a strange bird, Lil Billie. You suck Alabama's dick by staying up on everything "Alabama", then you go on a message board and trash'em. Looks like the classic approach of "if I can't boast of Alabama's accomplishments, then I don't want anyone else to".
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I found out that you sleep in an Alabama jersey on the down low.

What about the 11 transfers LSU has had so far? It's like I'm the only one who ever looks at the transfer portal.
