I actually disagree with this. The continuous globalization of media has really contributed to increasing American popularity of soccer in recent years and its only continuing to grow. It’s the biggest sport in the world and that isn’t changing. I could see soccer becoming the “Big Fourth” in college sports 40 or 60 years down the line easily.

I suspect that we'll actually see soccer become the next major team sport in the conference. The majority of true college compatible kids seem to be leaning toward the sport, and, who knows, it could be the savior of real amateurism!
