Why do you do it?

Are you afraid of something? Are you trying to intimidate other people? Are you trying to instill fear in others? Are you trying to make some larger social/cultural point by openly carrying a firearm in the suburbs and one you really don't need?

We live in a largely civilized and safe society. What do you gain from openly carrying a firearm?

I conceal carry but I've never been fearful or felt intimidated when I see someone else open carry.

You see Pandy, it's not the "largely" part that people are concerned with. A question for you: if you are in a potentially hazardous line of work, known to carry large sums on money, often find yourself in undesirable locations (especially at night), or any other number of reasons wouldn't it be short sighted and naive not to carry, and have it known that you can/will defend yourself?

PS- It only takes once not having protection when it's needed.

I open carry because only pussies are afraid of the sight of a gun.

I only conceal carry so as not to present myself as a target for some deranged transvestite Trump hater.

Concealed carrying takes an extra license that I don't want to pay for.

You'll notice that a ton of open carry guys are usually guys who would have never met the physical or mental qualifications to enter the military. This isn't to say it's always the case, but they're, in my experience, either boot camp rejects or guys who were washed out/separated early.

However, I actually look toward Leftist thinking people to explain the phenomenon because they exhibit it a lot. You see, most American Liberals' heroes are victims of oppression and because of this, they look for ways to be like their heroes and we have this really bizarre thing where people think there are racist/sexist affronts in day to day conversations that simply are not there.

You ask a Liberal who Harriet Tubman was and they know who it is right away and even rely on fake history to bolster up how 'good' she was. MLK, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman etc. etc.., you can see a pattern in it.

You ask a Liberal who William Harvey Carney was and they'll be hard pressed to tell you without whipping out their phone.

Open Carry is the Right-Wing equivalent of American Liberals trying to see themselves in their heroes. They love the Constitution and Forefathers like it were a religious cult, and so they seek to be "revolutionaries" as well. Standing up the evil tyrants and doing what's their right bah gawd.

You can also see it in people who deliberately make a police officer's life that much harder by doing things like not producing their Identification when asked by a Law Enforcement officer. They want everything to be a heroic moment like their idols.

Any person with a few ounces of intellect understand that concealed carry is not just safer, it's strategic! The whole point of warfare as early as Sun Tzu is deception, not showing your hand to the enemy.

Why not just admit it and say you'd like to see it outlawed? The anti-gunners would appreciate it.

What exactly should anyone carrying a gun be afraid of?

I am a concealed carry guy 99% of the time. But I'd like for you to explain the most comfortable way to carry a Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum concealed. I open carry that sometimes, on my own property. Should that be outlawed, as well?

I believe you are complaining about something that is a MUCH bigger issue online than it is in real life.

I live in one of the most gun-happy places in the country- and it's as rare as Bigfoot to see an open carrier where it causes a scene.

Apparently triggering people like you.

I'm not the open carry type, mainly for tactical purposes.

I don't carry a firearm at all but we have a couple of guys that open carry at church every service in case some loser decides to make a name for himself at our expense. Regardless, why are you crapping on somebody's right to openly bare arms? I don't choose to do it but I don't care if you do.

They do it to match their holster clip cell phone. They want to look balanced in their starched cargo pants while at the local church league softball game.

I wouldn't open carry even if it was legal here. I carry a Glock 19 in my holster purse.

Open carry is dumb. It should be legally allowed but people who open carry out in public just to do it or for everyday protection are only seeking attention. If there’s a robbery they’re going to be the first person shot by the criminals. Concealed carry is the way to go.

I’m talking open carry in a big city. Small town errand running open carry is different.
