This is also a football forum. I'm not sure why we allow other sports to be discussed.

I would say the same thing too if my basketball team sucked.

The basketball dweebs make this board dismal this time of year.
Basketball does nothing for me other than remind me that this is the crappiest weather time of the year and that football is still a long arse ways away smh.

What if we had the mental fortitude to talk about multiple sports at once?

The SEC football Championship always has playoff/NC implications, the SEC Basketball Tournament is essentially meaningless.
It's like comparing apples to....nazi oranges

1) there is really no "SEC Championship game" in basketball. There's an SEC Tournament Championship Game, but the SEC Championship in basketball is a regular season title, and any team that would win the regular season title will already have their bid in the NCAA Tournament locked up, making the SEC tournament warm up games for the real tournament.
2) Obviously this is a football conference but the amount of basketball discussion suggests that we like basketball too.

if you want year round college football wonk, move to Austin texas. sports radio there will entertain your thoughts on college football 365 days of the year (fair warning though, it's only allowed about one team).

What on God's good Earth would we talk about year round when football is done? A bit of recruiting maybe? A handful of minor coaching changes?
Have you seen this board between the end of baseball season and the start of football? The threads are horrendous. The amount of threads that compare uniforms, stadiums, campuses, or facilities (when most have never even seen them all) is ungodly.

People watch football because they like football. People watch basketball because it's on.
