till like where we're at, especially with Auburn's OL coach leaving.

Can't imagine anybody going to Auburn so grimes would be their coach. That's why I just don't see his leaving as necessarily a possitive or a negative for us. If he was looking at Auburn, it was because of early playing time. We still have a much, much stronger OLine room than Auburn does, so our linemen that left, I don't think will help us all that much.

Don't get me wrong...I still think we have the edge for him, and at this point think we get him. I am just not sure we were helped by Grimes leaving Auburn. It could actually hurt if they hire a very good OLine coach. Grimes just was not very good.

I get that, but it doesn’t mean he didn’t have a relationship with Grimes. He does not have one yet with whomever they hire.

Why do you feel that's the case more so than any other position? I would guess it has to do with needing a tight relationship with the QB coach they have to make a strong decision the first time? I thought that relationship was due to the position only having 1 starter on the field. Kind of a chicken and egg thing. Seems strange but I definite agree. You don't seem to hear many QBs flipping last minute.

They usually want to lock their place in early so that they don't lose the spot at the school of their choice. Most places only bring in 1-2 a year.

That makes a lot of sense. Can't be flip flopping when there is only usually 1 guaranteed spot per class.

Grimes wasn't recruiting him, either. I mean...Grimes was not the reason Jones was considering them.

Don't misunderstand....I am not arguing that Auburn is even in it. I actually think they are not. the only thing they have to offer is playing time. He would just about be guaranteed that. But that is it. If he looks closely at Auburn, he won't go there. Gus on the hot seat. there are a whole lot more reasons not to go there than to go there.

I posted about him earlier. In the thread but I think it got drowned out. He had good stats at FSU.

247 is reporting about him possibly picking UGA as well.

Something that would help us tremendously. I have a feeling Newman will want all the targets he can get.

247 and Rivals both have said it's looking like UGA is in a much more solid position on Jones than before.

If Newman chooses us would that choice affect class rating? I assume not but I'm not certain.

Wolf and Cager didn’t change anything so I assume not.

It doesn't affect the ranking. It does take spots though.

Will all the folks transferring out and going into the draft does it free up more space? The number we can take always has so many aspects to it I can’t keep up
