I'm curious if we're holding his LOI for any reason. Maybe a better option opened up.

If we go for Blonde Jake Fromm over a starter who’s actually had success so help me.....

Still showing the article hyperlink doing the search, surprised they can’t remove that completely. Oh well, looking good to me!

Edit: since it went to new page, thought I'd clarify. This is just a screen cap of a google search, but the article is a 404 error as it looks like DN had to pull it down for releasing it too early.

Brendan Koerner @brendan_koerner BREAKING: From an insider close with Clemson’s back up QB, Chase Brice will enter the transfer portal after the National Championship, and UGA is his top target. However, it will be up to Kirby Smart if he comes here??

I'm confused by all these options. This transfer portal is like some kind of fantasy football thing that's become real for the college game.
So Newman is apparently the guy but could someone clarify...if this guy was so all-world, what was he doing at Wake Forest in the first place?
I thought D'Eric King is supposed to be the primo guy if he's looking to transfer?
Or Costello if looking for the pro style guy?

Just last year a qb from Duke was taken in the top 10

Keep an eye on Tre McKitty, FSU TE, he just entered the portal and has ties to Hartley according to Rusty over at 247.....A little birdie said we may be looking to add another TE from the transfer portal a week or so back....

I'd be ok with Brice or Newman. I think either can be solid QBs for us.

Yup. Most of his numbers came from the beginning of the year against weaker teams.
King is the one to go after. Everyone else is just a warm body until Beck steps up:

King would be so awesome. Not gonna happen though

Everyone speaks highly of becks intelligence. His coach said he has the iq of Fromm and the arm of stafford. I’m sure he’s just short of both but it could be enough. There’s been a shite ton of freshman qbs come in and make out pretty damn good. I’m in high hopes of this. He kinda looks like fire marshal bill too so he has that going for him.

... King is 5'11" and didn't exactly look stellar to start 2019 before he made the decision to redshirt.
I think if anyone is anticipating a Heisman like season from Newman they're kidding themselves. This isn't about finding a magic bullet, rather finding a capable athlete to give us more options as we re-tool whatever our offense was in 2019 into what we'll see in 2020. Limiting ourself to a true freshman and a RS freshman who *may* or *may not* end up getting medically cleared OR as much as I think he seems like a good dude, Stetson "I look like I'm going to throw an interception 50% of the time" Bennett would be a huge concern.

I'm not sure if you know this, but some guys fly under the radar and some develop into great players after they play a few seasons.
