I don't think there is enough motivation from the people in charge...
If Billy Donovan was canned by OKC I see making the move.
No other coach is worth the buyout.
Mainly because aggy historically has been a horrible to average basketball program. These last few years have been their best run in history.
Why buy him out?
Buzz Williams coached at a historically strong program at Marquette.
Va Tech is a flash in the pan. They are a Sweet 16 every few years team under Buzz Williams.
Why buy him out for a similar product?
Haven't heard one reputable A&M person say Kennedy is out.
It is only certain parts of their message board fanbase.

VT hasn’t been to the Sweet 16 since 1967

Kennedy is not worth EXTENDING (which would have to happen if he is retained with only 2 seasons left).
He still has a chance to finish with a worse record in year 8 overall than he had in year 1 (he has 11 wins so far and had 14 in 2011-2012). Remaining games are Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Mississippi State, LSU and Arkansas.
The only win out of that group is Vanderbilt, leaving him with a record of 12-18 (5-13) at the end of the regular season and likely 12-19 after the SEC Tournament.

Damn it I cant stand you but this is a strong point
This is like hiring bball coaches from Murray State, or Houston for football coaches. You're probably being sold a bill of goods.

Donavan is not going to aTm.
You thought Kennedy’s brand of ball is boring, then why in the sam hell you would want Buzz?
ATm Basketball fans are delusional.
