I haven't had time to chime in yet, but I have read all of the Naysayers and disagree completely.

For the record, I am ecstatic.
1. Beard- yes, but not even possible for anyone at this point. Tech will keep him until TX or possibly even after.
2. Sampton, Heck NO! Not with the HCIW crap and even then. Dude was older than we need at this juncture.
3. Marshall, love the dude, mean as nails, his wife would have been an added attraction. (Ashley Judd would meet her match quickly) But, he is a Weenie and afraid to compete, wants too much control and money.

Muss is the complete coach other than perhaps recruiting, but I think he will do well there even. He understands the schematics of coaching, game planning, social media, and bringing a level of excitement we haven't seen in forever. He is very animate towards the officials, and tough on players when he needs to be. He is a COACH through and through.

Happy in our decision. WPS!

So from piecing things together it sounds like this was the way things played out.

Sampson was first on te clock. Lost on Friday, and got new offer over the weekend. His sons status kept him at Houston. HY talked to him Monday morning.

Monday night Muss was flown in, saw the facilities, and was interviewed.

Tuesday HY presented it to the board and one had concerns over things he had heard about Muss, and some wanted to hold out for Beard.

It became evident Beard was no longer an option during the week and more so last night so negotiations began with Muss.

At 8:00 this morning HY was on a plane from Fort Smith to Reno to pick up Muss to finish things up.
