Texas and Texas A&M are not equal. Texas didn't create A&M as an equal partner. Aggie added a lot more students to increase their alumni base for more donations. They'll figure it out.

add to the long term "donation factor" their strategy to leverage the state for more funding based on student population.

Where they fell short (aka dumb frick mentality) was the recognition of the states mantra to "maintain excellence and strive to enhance higher education".

When Sharp stood before law makers in '16 asking for a larger cut of the PUF/AUF revenue, student population was the play. The board flipped the table and requested detail on TAMU's enhancement towards higher education (i.e. quality over quantity) and meeting minimum standards such as student to faculty ratios.

Sharpe fumbled and bumbled like an idiot.. "but we have more students". Literally the complete substance of their presentation and proposal. Unfricking real the look on his face as well as the board. Making matters worse they called him out on inaccurate reporting numbers.. the fool had no idea on what or how to respond. Babbled incoherently "I wasn't the one who compiled the data".

UT Chancellor McRaven rolls up last and the entire presentation is centered on the last years performance and increased commitments to higher education. Game over.

This stuff matters not or is simply over the heads of 99% of the room in here, but it's entertaining as hell for those that do.

You ever think about just running the engine while the garage door is down?
