Yes, it was. I mean you were turned down by a couple, hired and backed out of another one (Schiano) before finally hiring the guy you currently have.
I do agree he might prove to have been a great fit, but then you have to consider he was something like your 4th choice. I guess it is a good thing Tennessee fell into that hire. So, let's not pretend he was hired based upon Tennessee being a superior choice.
As for Chaney? I actually think he is a good hire for Tennessee. Congratulations!

Is there something wrong with promoting from within? I mean, Dooley and Butch Jones were both outside hires, so ....
