Other regions outside of the south are all in a basketball season frame of mind and could care less about two teams from the South playing each other once again for a national championship.
There are like, three programs outside of the southeast that can be reasonably expected to field a legit championship contender in any given year. This is always going to be an issue whether Saban's around or not.

2014 we lost to ohio state who won the title. 2015 was a dog fight against Clemson. 2016 Clemson won. 2017 was a dog fight.
4 of the 5 best playoff games have involved Alabama.
Playoff games decided within one score:
2014 - Ohio State 42, Alabama 35
2015 - Alabama 45, Clemson 40
2016 - Clemson 35, Alabama 31
2017 - Georgia 54, Oklahoma 48 (2OT)
2017 - Alabama 26, Georgia 23 (OT)
Outside of those games, only one other game has been within 2 scores (Alabama 45, Oklahoma 34) which really wasn't anywhere nearly that close. The Alabama 24, Clemson 6 game felt closer.
Everyone complained about Alabama when they won the titles in 2009, 2011, 2012 - feeling that a playoff would make it more competitive.
Yes, the games were more competitive. Alabama won all 3 pre-playoff title games by 16 or more. Alabama still WON, but now you had teams with legit shots at winning (and in two cases, DID win) in those contests. Only one playoff game NOT involving Alabama has been a good game (Georgia v Oklahoma).
Everyone complaining about Alabama when Alabama has literally given them 4 out of the 5 best playoff games so far.

Yeah, maybe they are that team, but I'm thinking Bama is going to take them to the wood shed and make a statement
I hope so. Would love that. But I dont expect it. I'm honestly still scarred from the shula years. I'm not comfortable with a game until it's over and we've won.

This is the problem. Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama.....over and over like some kind of episode from the Twilight Zone that never ends. We've seen this show enough and many fans are simply changing the channel. That this is happening is NOT good for the sport itself and eventually NOT good for fans of Alabama football. It's no fun having zero competition to play and your program is putting the rest of them out of the ability to compete with it. So what if Alabama wins another championship to go along with the 500 others. Big deal. It isn't impressive anymore and the shine has worn off for all of us other fans. Yawn. Boring.
To be honest, Alabama, for it's own good should fire Saban if he doesn't retire after this season. Otherwise they will forever be blamed as the school that caused the end of college football. If college football ends, you and your fellow Alabama addicts won't have anything to satisfy your cravings.

Well goddamnit. You're right, you know? We should implement a rule that, if you get in the playoffs, you're not allowed to play in it the next season. That will stop teams from getting in every year.

So fricking be it. I'd rather win the national championship every year until they end college football for good instead of not winning one and college football continuing.

Alabama winning every game every year is KILLING interest in college football. Other regions outside of the south are all in a basketball season frame of mind and could care less about two teams from the South playing each other once again for a national championship. If Saban wants to kill the sport that gave him everything he has as a legacy he can simply keep on coaching his semi-pro football machine. It has gotten to the point where this is not even good for Alabama and it's fans. Who gets excited over winning everything all of the time? Even THIS has to get old. It's approaching that if you've had an erection for longer than four hours, you need to see a doctor thing. For the good of the sport, let's hope Saban does the right thing after this season is over with.
It is better to share the recruits so football will be more balance and worth while watching again!

Lighten up, Francis. Was Major League Baseball destroyed when the Yankees won five straight World Series from 1949-53? You want to stop Alabama from winning all the time, beat them. It's really quite simple.

If you or the team you pull for doesn't like it, work harder to compete. Bunch of sissy people that want things given to them without the work.
Saban puts in the work to get the success that he has.

"The Prayer"
Prayer is good. Let us all pray for a Clemson victory. In fact, a runaway Clemson victory would probably be even better for the whole of the game.

Fast forward 10 years and you may substitute Clemson University for Bammer.

I disagree. I think Clemson has benefited greatly from a down cycle ACC. There is no team capable of beating them in their conference. FSU is down. Miami is down. Virginia Tech is down. Clemson has an easy path to the CFP because of this.

Meanwhile, we have beaten every SEC team not named Alabama every time we have played them in the last seasons. Try again.

This is not the same as playing a full SEC schedule. The ACC is an easy road for your team as it is currently. You wouldn't have such a smooth ride trying to be champions of the SEC or even trying to have fewer than two losses. Clemson in the SEC does not get invited to the CFP in all probability just as the case this year with Georgia. It is the weak arse ACC that got you that undefeated record and championship.
