Just listened OU post game.

Riley. - we outplayed 3 qtrs. We outscored by 17. ( Coach Riley- Saban took his foot off the pedal by running and not passing. Had Bama kept passing, score would have been 72- 48 Bama. Should have been 52-34 if Saban had not been so nice. Also, Saban screwed his own fan base by taking the knee.

Listening to Riley, I realize he will never win a Natty. Too much blame on others and not himself.

Also, why would any top defensive players want to play in Little 10 ? Perhaps Riley and Herman will lead the change to play Big Boy Football in the Little 10

That conference is where the NFL-aspirations of defensive recruits go to die.

Meh, whatever. He was just talking like a coach. He doled out tons of respect for our program before and after the game. Saban said that the only time they stopped us is when we stopped ourselves on offense..........I don't think he was being a dick there he was just being honest.

Same with Riley.

He can say they outplayed Bama for 3 quarters... may not agree but he can make a case for it somehow. As far as the outscoring goes it was very obvious Bama called off the dogs ffensively. Bama clearly took a few knees instead of punching it I. For Riley to completely ignore that is B12 douchery... at its finest.

Good for Riley.

Anyone who can trigger some Bammers is cool by me. And he clearly has.

I'm normally for showing class and taking the knee. And only had Bama in moneyline parlays and team total for 1st Half(not ATS), but yes Saban hosed Tide fan gamblers.

With Riley inheriting one of college football's elite natty title contenders, albeit one usually put in it's place come Playoffs, by scoring 50+, Tide backers would've scored the ATS win, plus Bama exceed it's game team total..

More importantly it would've sent the message that the Big12 plays limited D, and help discourage recruits into thinking that OU/UT,etc..are within true striking distance again. As both have great young HCs to sell bright futures to their states/fanbases/recruits.

Style points and narratives matter(right or wrong), and play roles. Which is why the 6X Natty HC took a knee and moved onto Clem Part IV, and why Riley is giving sell job of a double-digit defeat after trailing 28 zip from jump street.

Lincoln Riley reminds me of that one out of place redneck friend from high school whose favorite movie was Scary Movie 12.

Merciful Saban had us take a knee. We should have handed the ball to Jacobs again.
