Cant disagree with much except the CFP, they needed the expansion to keep interest in the Midwest & Northeast.
The athletes are predominantly in the south, but the money is still heavy in the north. The powers that be don't care who wins, they care about sustained long term revenue & growth.
If ND, Penn St & Michigan can't at least sniff a CFP appearance there are problems everywhere.

Those are blue bloods with 100k seat plus stadiums. They will be fine. Most teams recruit regionally, while Saban recruits nationally. Look at their classes. Lots of players from New Jersey and Baltimore, for example. Once saban is gone, those players won’t go to Alabama.
