quote:Could be. Could also be the station found someone willing to say something negative about Alabama which is always a plus. Tua's treatment is atypical, but well within the bounds of competitive sports.
Sounds like butt hurt to me.
His background screams conservative treatment specialist. "...has treated Presidents, Vice President, and over 300 of our Nations Highest Ranking Officials." Can't see pushing invasive treatments for any of the above.

If anyone can coherently articulate why reporting this constitutes "trolling" or can document any misrepresentation I will apologise and resign from the board asap.
The Dr in question is the Team Dr for a University here in Jacksonville and has a decent resume. He appears regularly in a popular radio show in NE Florida and addresses high profile sports injuries. His comments were very specific and incendiary, which is why I reported this.
I did not say I agreed with his comments in any way. I think the treatment is probably very cutting edge and I'm all for it.

I would bet this Dr. doesn’t know the exact injury or the procedure.

Just because he has "Dr." in front of his name doesn't mean he is smart.

1. Jimmy Andrews was not his surgeon
2. Orthopods are split on the issue. Some think it’s too aggressive. Some think it’s fine.

Julio Jones has a hand fracture plated and played 5-6 days later.
Obviously it’s a different injury, but the point remains that these elite athletes are treated differently than your average joe.

You show a pattern of starting shite stirring topics with the intent of not necessarily agreeing with the content but getting everyone riled up. If the content was worth a shite, fine...whatever. But it's random, vague, and has one simple goal and that's getting everyone pissed off.
Again, past time for a temporary ban. Especially with the playoff game approaching.

Why are you posting this? Everyone knows that if it wasn't said on 930 The Game it is not to be trusted. 1010 XL is the public access sports talk of Jacksonville.

This guy probably believes in voodoo medicine. He is probably in the camp that suggests sprinkling Essential Oils on Tua's ankle would have sped the healing process by 1000x and interventional medicine/surgery is a horrible thing for tissue repair and scarring.

Well let’s see, since he is a competing orthopedic might his view point be slightly tainted. No one is forcing the kids or family to do this. I’ve worked with lots of MDs most are very opinionated and actually quite competitive.

Would make sense. RCT, if i remember right, was like the only guy ever to be banned from Woolly for being a douche. And you of course backstabbed Woolly and got the site taken down. You will always be a cancer.

I mean if Tua was a regular Joe, then that doctor probably has a point. That said, Tua is not a regular Joe and he is starting QB playing for the highest stakes so they took a more aggressive approach.
In the NFL, it wouldn't be any different. Reminds me of Ronnie Lott in the 86 Super Bowl. He was told not to play or he could lose his injured pinky. Lott said go ahead and cut it off.

This shite again? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Thank you. Thanks for the helpful information as opposed to more handringing hysteria.
The Dr in question didn't give the type of balanced information your link provides. He didn't offer any disclaimers. And that's why I posted about it. He straight out claimed we were putting the kid at risk.
I wish like hell I could link the interview. The station has an archive but today isn't up yet. If you all heard it you would understand how inflammatory it was.

Don't deny what? I never had any sort of loyalty to WoollyAl and I convinced blacklab to let me become an admin of the site. Hannibal panicked and took the site down for several months after that happened.
I never intended on shitting on the site. Yet there's a contingent on here who swears I killed it. I didn't, Hannibal did.

Seems like they probably could learn a thing or two from the doctors that actually practice on high-level athletes. Dr. Murphy probably spends most of his time working on grandmas that get hurt playing Pickleball.
Actually, he's the team doctor for the University of North Florida.

And he has an endorsement on his bio from none other than our own "Holla McGee".
"“As a tight end for University of Alabama football, I suffered a torn hip muscle. I needed to get back in the game fast. I did my research and found Dr. Kevin Murphy. Thanks to my arthroscopic hip surgery, I was back to playing college ball without pain! I am thankful that I selected Dr. Murphy as my surgeon.”
-Colin P., University of Alabama tight end"
So to say he doesn't know anything about what he's talking about would be inaccurate. It's just an opinion.
