re: The SEC West was mediocre in 2001-2003

2000 was a bad year for the SEC in general. LSU's win over Georgia Tech in the Chick Fil-A Bowl was the only OOC win all year for the entire conference over a team that finished ranked in the polls. In 2001 the SEC was the best conference by far but 2002 was another mediocre year for the conference. Auburn did beat Penn St. and Arkansas beat Boise St. but Georgia's Sugar Bowl win over Florida St. was the only other OOC win over a team that finished ranked. In 2003 the SEC was probably the best conference but the East admittingly did most of the work.....LSU's BCS national title not withstanding.
