I played for both. Head coach was demanding, motivational, great role model and devout Christian. One Assistant was an a-hole who was successful as a father and professional and did great in life except his first wife cheated oh him and they divorced.
Another assistant was a great role model, Christian, but also tolerated our youthful indiscretions. My favorite by far to this day.

Sounds like Lloyd Skoda...hard arse that knew how to win, taught incredible baseball skills, with great knowledge...but if you lost...he would run you till you'd never lose again..2 state titles in my short time with him
