My HS in 64/65 was a Co-Captain of Coach Bryant's 1958 Alabama team. No water until practice was over. Tuff guy and our assistant was much more tuff. He played two years a Holmes Juco and then on to Delta State. He was just mean and we loved him. Shet was different. Went to Livingston in 68 with Coach Morris Higgenboatham and he was really tuff. Mickey Andrews and Charlie Stephens were assistant coaches and both were on the 64 Bama NC team. Things were just different then. Players were different.
