Coach Smart is going to be better than Coach Saban, remember Coach Saban has run out of the SEC Coach Meyer, Coach Miles, and Coach Chiziik all national title winning coaches. Coach Saban has also run out coaches that were considered top offensive or defensive coaches.
Coach Saban has never lost to any of his previous assistants.
Coach Smart may end up being a very good coach (I think he will be), but last year's UGA team was a hugely talented team (better than this year's UGA team) and Alabama spotted them 13 points in last year's NCG and Alabama still won (with a freshman QB only playing in the second half.)

Maybe what you say is true. But get used to it, these battles between us are gonna keep happening and we will beat that arse at some point.
No one expected us there last year, Bama has 10 years of 5 stars stacked up, we just getting started. No one thinks Smart is gonna be better than Saban over his career, but that doesn’t mean we can’t beat you. We will see what’s what on Saturday.

I don't think Smart will be better than Saban for the simple reason that Saban's achievements at Bama will likely join the list of records considered unbreakable before he retires. But Smart can be elite, and "not being Saban" shouldn't be a factor whatsoever in making that determination.
Besides, in a few years, Smart won't have to go through Saban to get to the CFP title. Let's see what happens when the shackles are gone.

Do we expect a National Title or two out of him over a long career at UGA? Yes.
Do we expect a dynastic run of 5 titles in 10 years? Big ole nope.

No, Smart will probably not win as many titles as Saban. There may not be another coach to achieve that.
BUT, this year's UGA team is likely the worst version of itself for the next 3-4 years. We are the youngest team in the SEC and are 11-1
