Are you saying there was no bias considering your location?
Exactly what I am saying. If LSU had the ball and thrown for a first I would have said "frick...that's a first". It was that obvious in the stadium.
In that situation at EVERY stadium in college football if it had been close people wouldn't be high fiving... they would be saying "damn... is that a first?? That is close". It was 4th and 18 and everyone in the stadium... A&M and LSU fans... KNEW where the marker was. If they didn't they saw the replay. I have yet to see a single post from an LSU fan that was actually at the game say it wasn't a first. They knew it also.
Once again... in the stadium the SEC Network did not impose that yellow line you saw on TV. I had no idea there any question about it until Sunday morning when I got on the rant.

Do people in the stadium usually want a measurement when he clearly got a first down by a yard and a half?
Can anyone begin to imagine the outcry from LSU fans if the refs had STOPPED the clock to measure for a first down that was 1 1/2 yards past the stick??? The LSU fans would be bitching a fricking storm about refs stopping the clock for no reason to allow A&M to get set. Ridiculous.

quote:The whole thing is a moot fricking point by now anyway because we know from looking at the line of scrimmage and the down and distance display that the sticks were 18 yards away. Seeing the fricking sticks on the sideline corroborated this.

We saw aggy make a 19-20 yard play. The entire impetus of this shitty gripe is that the chain gang should have measured the spot because the pretend TV line was visibly in the wrong place.

Looking at the stats, all are pretty dead even:
First Downs:
LSU 31
A&M 33
Total Yards:
LSU 496
A&M 521
Passing Yards:
LSU 281
A&M 287
Rushing Yards:
LSU 215
A&M 234
Turnovers:
LSU 1
A&M 1
Time of Possession:
LSU 28:30
A&M 31:30
EXCEPT Penalties
LSU - 10 for 70 yards
A&M - 3 for 24 yards
I am not saying that the refs swallowed whistles or anything, but apparently, A&M played near mistake-free football.
Before the OT, A&M had only one 5-yard penalty during regulation. In OT they got a 15-yard PI and a false start on the last play.
During OT, LSU had 5 penalties:
Personal foul - 8 yards
False start - 5 yards
Delay of game - 5 yards
Pass Interference - 1 yard
Unsportsmanlike Mouthing off the Ref (GREEDY!!!) - 1 yard
