IMO, the West wasn't a whole lot better than the East was this season. The only real difference is the best team in the county is in the West. Take Alabama out of the equation, and they're pretty equal. Obviously, if UGA was in the west they'd be playing Alabama but I think UGA would have finished second both this year and last. And you also need to account for the fact that 2 of his losses to the West were in his first season and another was in the national championship game. The 4th was to Auburn who they later crushed in the SECCG.

Not always:

Here.

Last year you lost to Auburn in the regular season and Alabama in the post season.

This year you lost to LSU and have a good chance of losing to Alabama, which if you did, would put Kirby at third in the West.

In 2016, when Kirby first started, he lost to Ole Miss and beat Auburn, but we can safely conclude that he probably would have faced tougher teams than, say, Vanderbilt.

All I'm saying is that it's awfully fishy that unless he has a second bite at the apple he gets the holy dogshit kicked out of him by a team in the West every single year.

Ole Miss (5 - 7 Ole Miss)

Auburn

LSU

That's not bad luck, that's a pattern.
