Chaney isn't nearly as bad as many UGA fans might want you believe, but he's not near as great as many of your fans want to believe either. I know he's been at UT before so you already are familiar but here's a few random thoughts on him while he was here:

-He's pretty darn good at drawing up a gameplan going into gameday. You saw it the last 2 games against bama, we've been one of the VERY few teams the last few years to put them on their heels and actually build a couple TD lead on them, that's mainly in part due to the great scouting and gameplan of chaney.
-With that said, he's pretty doggone bad at in-game adjusting on the fly. Again referencing the last 2 bama games...we would get a nice little lead, but when bama started adjusting and taking away what's been workign, he clams up. He then seemed content (in both games) to try to run out 2 quarters of gameclock and we lost both games.
-He runs a lot more sets than I think some of our fans realize, but he's not super imaginitive of the actual playcalls. Many times over the last 3 yeras we got stuck in a run/run/pass series which is maddening
-Whenever we would run hurryup or our 2 minute drill we seemed to be on fire the last 2 years, almost without fail. Yet other than end of half/game situations we rarely did this. Idk why.
-I know this is one extreme example, but you all saw us go 0-7 (ZERO FOR SEVEN) from the 1 yard line in jax this year. You can call it a bad series or bad game or whatever but that's inexcusable. The specifics escape me but I believe the following week against UK we had the same thing happen.
-In 2017 and 2018 Chaney had phenomenal talent on offense to work with. There were many times, especially in 2017, where he woudl make a boneheaded playcall but get bailed out by Sony or Wims. In 2016, when we had a bad OL and not as much talent, our offense was pretty damn bad. I'm not sure were your overall O talent level is going into '19 but I think that will play a big part.
