I'll take the L last night, not going to complain about the refs.

With that said, Birmingham better be busy Monday morning investigating some of these calls. What happened last night was inexcusable on any level of officiating. Rules are set in place for a reason.

It all boils down to the loose interpretation of the targeting rule. Not just SEC-centric either.

If it wasn’t for the cheating refs, L8U would never lose a game...ever. Most talented, best coached team in the nation. Hell, if the SEC offices weren’t in Birmingham, they’d be the greatest dynasty in the world, spoken in the same breath as the Roman Empire, Alexander the Great and William the Conquer.

i know the other teams are blinded by their passion for their team. but seriously, if the refs had called every obvious penalty on you guys, bama would have scored in the 60's on most of you. lsu and auburn both got away with many blatant penalties. lsu held the bama wr's every play. auburn did it some too and got away with at least 3 facemask calls, obvious facemask. its getting old listening to you crybabies while you turn a blind eye to everything you get away with. no, i'm not saying bama never gets away with anything, not at all. but they dont get away with any more than the rest of you do.

Move the sec office out of grump land and hire people who does not have a interest in any sec team, then see how grumps fair each year, it would be a hell of difference

Only losers bitch about the bad calls. I thought the Iron Bowl was pretty fairly called, but I was also enjoying the game instead of yelling at the TV for 3.5 hours.

I will say that everything seemed to go Alabama's way in that game. I've also seen games where Alabama had to overcome some terrrrrrible calls. Usually Alabama's opponents are penalized less - check the data. It's called football.

I try not to bitch about the refs, because sometimes you get screwed and other times you get breaks and it ends up being a wash. However, the officiating this year did seem extra terrible.

LSU fans blaming the refs and the SEC and Alabama for their own shitty performances is creating a culture of victimhood and destroying their team’s ability to build a winning culture.
Losers find excuses. It is why you are losers.

Well, we won and I’m here to tell you the SEC refs calling Clemson USCe sucked arse. They were calling Ticky tack PI on both teams virtually every play and coming up with creative penalties like defensive delay of game that I’ve never seen called in any game. Even penalized Wilkins for a harmless heisman pose after his TD. Get real.

Agree.

Also, anybody notice you only hear when calls are/seem bad? I think the constant harping about a bad call is creating a perception that every call is bad. It’s a no win for the refs.

The conspiracy stuff is BS. Lst8 would be winless if you buy into that. Auburn only gets questionable calls when they lose to Bama. Blah blah blah.

Bowl games are called by neutral crews. Check out what happens to Bama and get back to me.

Fair warning. You will not like what you find.

Eight man crew, seven crews, 56 officials, average $100,000 a year each...less for linesman and more for the white hats...$5,600,000 a year on officials' salaries. Throw in health insurance, social security contributions, retirement pensions, etc., because if you're talking about professionalizing it, that's what you're going to have to pay for. You're probably talking about close to $10,000,000 a year at least. I don't think the SEC institutions are going to agree to start paying $10M a year for football officials.

Meant Wilkins of course and fair point. Still the pose was a humorous homage to Desmond Howard.
