The problem now is that the cable companies with high speed internet have priced that so it's almost impossible to find internet fast enough for streaming and then something like youtube tv, hulu, sling, etc for a much better price than cable and internet.

I switched from Comcast to Uverse, instead of streaming, a few months ago only because going to AT&T fiber and their cable was basically the same price as either hi speed Comcast internet/AT&T fiber, and I get more channels than youtube tv, which is what I was going to go with. I was paying about $190 for Comcast and am paying $120 for Uverse. Internet and youtube tv would have been $120. It's hard to find internet fast enough for streaming for less than around $80/month.

I do have a 1 year deal with Uverse, so next year that price will go up, but when I unbundle from cable, they're going to try to raise their internet price. I had Uverse before Comcast and when I switched to Comast from Uverse and back to Uverse from Comcast, neither company would negotiate any kind of deal. Comcast said go ahead and leave and Uverse tried to get me to put up a satellite for Dish, which wasn't happening, but neither would make any concession for me to keep the same services for a better price.

I'm in Atlanta and we were supposed to have Google fiber by now, but I doubt it's ever going to happen at this point.
