St. Louis is one of 2 cities aren’t located in a county making their stats skewed compared to the other top 50 largest metros. In fact, their suburbs (St. Louis County & the other surrounding STL Metro Counties) are ranked the 2nd safest of the Top 50 Metro areas.
Also, KC has a 5x higher crime rate (highest by far in MO), which includes violent crime, than St. Louis & KC is significantly smaller.

Just wear your shirt supporting local law enforcement and you'll be fine.

Was in Kansas city working construction for 8 months total in the section 8 projects. Almost got mugged/truck robbed, luckily we like all good Louisiana citizens were caring a handgun on our hip. They left once they say the guns. And another time we were at the Burger King on main st eating lunch, some drugged out dude was trying to fill his cup at the fancy flavor touchscreen soda machine. He couldnt figure it out so the person behind him tried to help him. He flashed out and pulled a revolver out of his waist and starte flashing it around yelling "ima kill you mothaf**kers!!!" The damn manager got all I'm in his face screaming at him while he was waving a gun around, telling him to get the frick out her store... no fear like she does this shite all the time... me and my boss were not armed at that moment...
