You want to brunch at Brennan’s. It will take you a couple hours. You’re welcome.

I know it's a bit touristy, but I always go by ACME for Oysters at some point.

Got to get a Debris Sandwhich at Mothers.

Its a little Soup Nazi'ish so make sure you know what you want and its far from fancy. BUT its a staple of N.O

Palace Cafe on Canal is always good, especially if you like shrimp. If you want something a little different, go to Bayona and get the PB&J sandwich (cashew butter, roast duck, and red pepper jelly).

Can't go wrong with Dooky Chase, either.

I’m a fan of Stanley on Jackson Square. I’ve eaten different dishes there and they were all good. LINK

If you want to do the tourist routine, it's breakfast at Brennans, lunch at Court of Two Sisters, and dinner at Antoine's. All great meals and fun to go to. Have plenty of cash.
But, for great food ask a local where the best places are. And be sure to have a beignet and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde in the Quarter or the Warehouse District. Morning Call Coffee Stand is the best, if they are still in City Park and survived the lawsuit from Cafe du Monde to take over the location.

If you really want a taste of New Orleans, do lunch on Friday at Galatoire’s. Get in line early Friday morning or pay what they call a line sitter to keep your spot. Stay through dinner that night. Bring a blazer.
