Why is Hurts getting almost half the practice snaps? I don’t get it.

I seriously doubt he's currently getting half the snaps. Maybe before the season began. But not anymore.

Yea - I have no idea what he is going to do. That one is by far the trickiest of these 3 (Bama, Clemson, UGA).

Saban nice? Naw, Saban is one of Satan's many minions. So nice isn't really part of him. It's not part of winning either. It's part of his brilliance really.

That’s what other boards and a couple analysts have reported.

Even if it isn’t 50/50 it’s pretty evenly split.

I don’t think they feel that Tua needs extra reps TBH.

Hurts is actually in a great position if he’s trying to prepare for the NFL

I might be wrong, but I doubt there is a place for him in the NFL, with his skill set. He probably just wants another ring, and he will get another one too

I doubt it too, but Enos has already helped him with footwork and mechanics. I'm guessing Hurts thinks he can improve and get there, and Enos is a good one to get 12 months of training with.

Jalen thinks he can play in the NFL, so he's going to do whatever he can to get there IMHO.

Implying that he is being hoodwinked

Around 200+ QB's eneter the NFL draft ever year.
Less than 40 get a job even as practice squad player.
Less than 20 make a roster as backups or better.

Jalen at his current QB ability wouldn't make a practice squad in the NFL.

Agree

His goal is pretty clearly to work his arse off with a very good QB coach and get to the point where he has a chance.

Why would they change it back?

The rule helps both the players and teams overall

when can coaches of other teams start talking to disgruntled players about transferring?

What are the rules regarding that?

Did they change at all?

Per the rules changes, players now register their intent to transfer in an online NCAA database. Then schools can contact and recruit them without permission from their current school, and their current school can discontinue their scholarship after the current academic year, even if they don't end up transfering.

Jalen reminds me of Michael Robinson from Penn State.

I honestly think Jalen is learning a ton from Enos and realizes his best path to being a NFL QB is too keep improving his technical skills under Enos this season and then go show those off somewhere in the right situation next year. With that said, he could announce he's transferring today.

Jalen ain't never gonna be an nfl qb - see tim Tebow.

saban's using him but if Jalen is fine with it i'm fine with it.

my thought is that Jalen enjoys playing college qb and being the man - if so he's cheating himself out of his last 2 years. I dunno why you would want him for 1 year. we'll see. I honestly hope it works well for him, but I don't see it unless he puts the redshirt on.

Yeah Jalen Hurts would need a miracle of growth to become an NFL QB.

That doesn't mean he should be hated by morons in our fanbase who have done absolutely nothing for the unversity.

Who it's really going to hurt are those fringe kids who are borderline Div-1 talent. With the transfers and the redshirting, more and more kids are eating up 5 and 6 years of scholarships. It's simple math, with scholarship limits and the kids who already have them staying longer, fewer individuals will be awarded scholarships.

d have easily started Bryant this week (even for 1 series), and his eligibility would have been done. No transfer option. He did that kid a huge solid by naming Lawrence the starter and letting Bryant decide his fate.

I agree which is exactly what Saban did the first game of the season.
