I started college back in 2005. I don’t even consider Tech a rival anymore. Honestly, I wish we could just drop them from Georgia’s schedule lol

There's an article published yesterday that it would cost Tech 2 million to fire Paulie

More than a few of us oldsters would agree. Add Clemson as an even-year OOC and Texas as an odd-year game. We could have presence in Texas for recruiting.

You must have forgotten what happened from 1998-2000. We lost 3 in a row, and GT people thought they were in for a streak like they had from 1949-1956. That 3-year losing streak to GT was one of the main reasons Jim Donnan was fired, by the way.

When we win, we just consider it taking care of business. When they win, it's their Super Bowl for a year. Right now, they think they have a good chance of beating us because they have won the last 2 in Athens.

I wish we'd drop Tech too. Penn State/Pittsburgh was a long standing annual rivalry game, but they saw the wisdom of phasing it out when the teams joined different conferences. Same with Texas/TAMU, and Oklahoma/Nebraska. Fans get over it and the teams get flexibility for additional interesting matchups that draw national attention.

Playing an annual home and home with GT is a net negative for UGA football IMO. If we go to a 9 game SEC schedule, it will be a bigger negative. Dislike of a team's fanbase isn't a good enough reason to keep this game.
