4 teams in 7A Region 3 have qualified for the playoffs already in Hoover, Thompson, Mountain Brook and Hewitt.
Surprised Mountain Brook got trashed the way they did. Kept Hewitt pretty in check last week.

Also, it was 74-0 midway through the 2nd (yes, the 2nd) quarter. Could’ve been ALOT worse lol

I wrote them off as well! I spoke with an old friend that said if you play them, you had better catch them early because they play themselves into shape. They have a lot going both ways. Their big Achilles will be that they have no kicking game. They will be a tough out in the 5A playoffs.

Some fun playoff games.
Wetumpka beat Hillcrest in Tuscaloosa 20-17 in OT.
Homewood beat Gardendale 14-0
Pinson Valley beat Muscle Shoals 45-21. Bo Nix had 4 total Td's (2 passing, 2 rushing).
Opelika beat Decatur 49-0.
7A score that caught my attention: Lee Montgomery beat Auburn 12-6. For as consistent of a program as Auburn High has had, it's crazy how they've never pulled a team together to make a run to the state title. At least in my life time, they have always choked in the playoffs.
Another one in 7A, Central Phoenix City beat McGill Toolen 14-0. CPC has former Prattville coach, Jamey Dubose. Only a matter of time til they start winning some state titles.

North Jackson broke the Alabama scoring record this season, averaging over 60 points per game, but was held to 13 in a loss to Hokes Bluff.

Wetumpka will play Saraland in the 6A Semi-Final. Saraland beat Opelika 24-19.
