What section of the budget would you recommend cutting so they can increase the marketing efforts, how much would you cut it, and what would your expected increase in attendance and donorship be?

I wouldn’t cut anything. We spend over a million on marketing every year. I’d guess a large chunk of that (based on the budget notes) is on selling football tickets and paying a third party firm to do it.

The marketing we’re doing now isn’t working. Need to change it up.

As noted above, students aren’t coming to the games. Get them to the game. I didn’t miss but one or two games the entire time I was at Mizzou. But I only paid like $150 for basketball/football season tickets.

I’d also do more event marketing events. The football team showing up places or the Coach or designee promoting/building the Mizzou football brand personally.

We need to connect the football team back to the average Missourian. That’s not about increasing the budget. It’s about allocation of time and current resources.

Bass those are all good ideas, but the product the marketers are selling has to be good enough for people to come watch.

Mizzou needs to win, then convince several of the top local recruits to come to Mizzou every year. Then win at a higher level with local kids that the casual fans know and have connected with. Do that and what you mentioned, then attendance will pick up.

Personally I don’t care where the players come from, as long as the team is good. But there are lots of fans that are more likely to come if there are many players that the fans tracked in high school.

Attendance is low hanging IMO because as has been discussed, on field product will influence that.

The bigger question to me is expanding the donor pool.

Something like the Cardinal's Caravan on a state level.
